Jupko Safe Trading Guide

Jupko is a classifieds platform that helps buyers and listing owners find each other and communicate directly.

Jupko does not buy or sell products, process payments between buyers and sellers, charge commissions, provide money transfers, secure payments, escrow services, or shipping services.

For this reason, the terms of a transaction, payment method, delivery, and any agreement between the parties are determined directly by the buyer and seller.

Before completing a transaction, carefully evaluate the listing, the item, and the person you are communicating with.

See the Item in Person When Possible

One of the most effective ways to reduce risk when buying second-hand goods is to inspect the item in person whenever possible.

Check whether the item matches the photos and description in the listing.

If you are buying electronics, a vehicle, machinery, or another item that can be tested, try to verify that it works before paying.

For high-value items, do not rush and inspect the item in detail whenever possible.

Paying before seeing and verifying the item carries a higher level of risk.

Be Suspicious of Items Priced Abnormally Below Market Value

An item being priced far below the normal market price does not always mean it is a good deal.

If something that normally sells for much more is offered at an extremely low price without a reasonable explanation, be cautious.

Ask the seller why the price is so low. Review the condition, photos, description, and other information carefully.

If an item is unusually cheap compared with the market, treat that not only as an opportunity but also as a possible warning sign.

Be cautious with offers that appear too good to be true.

Choose a Safe Meeting Place

If buyer and seller meet in person, choose a busy, well-lit, and safe location whenever possible.

For high-value items in particular, avoid isolated or unfamiliar places.

If you consider it necessary, do not go alone and let someone you trust know where you are.

No item is more important than your personal safety.

Review the Listing Carefully

Consider the photos, description, price, and any other information together.

If information is missing, contradictory, or does not make sense, ask the listing owner for clarification.

Try to determine whether the photos actually belong to the item being offered.

Pay attention to whether the seller answers your questions clearly and consistently.

If parts of a listing make you suspicious, try to resolve those concerns before proceeding.

Be Careful When Someone Pressures You to Hurry

A common fraud tactic is to pressure the other person into making a quick decision.

If someone says things such as “pay now or I’ll sell it to someone else,” “send a deposit immediately,” or “you only have a few minutes,” do not rush.

In a normal transaction, it is reasonable to ask questions, assess the item and the terms, and take time to think.

If someone is pushing you to send money quickly before you have verified the item, stopping the transaction may be the safest option.

Do Not Send Money Before Verifying the Item

Sending money to someone you do not know without sufficiently verifying the item is risky.

For high-value purchases, do not pay solely based on messages or a few photos.

Try to confirm that the item actually exists and, where possible, that the person posting the listing has control of it.

Be especially careful with deposits and advance-payment requests.

Before sending money, verify as much as possible what you are buying and who you are paying.

Do Not Trust Anyone Asking for Payment on Behalf of Jupko

Jupko does not charge money or commission on transactions.

Jupko does not process payments between buyers and sellers and does not offer a “secure payment,” “item protection,” “shipping guarantee,” “seller verification,” or escrow service that requires you to pay money to Jupko.

If someone tells you that you must make a payment on behalf of Jupko or directs you to a payment page that looks like Jupko, be extremely cautious.

Jupko will not ask you to pay in order to buy or sell an item.

Watch Out for Fake Links

Check links sent to you in messages before opening them.

Fraudsters may create fake pages that resemble legitimate websites in order to steal your email address, sign-in code, bank details, or card information.

The 4-digit one-time code you use to sign in to Jupko is personal.

A buyer or seller never needs your Jupko sign-in code.

Never give your Jupko sign-in code to another person.

Do Not Share Card, Bank, or Verification Information

A person does not need your online-banking password, card PIN, card security code, SMS verification code, or Jupko sign-in code in order to send you money.

Do not share this information with other users.

Be especially cautious of unknown links asking you to enter card or banking details supposedly so that you can receive money.

Passwords, sign-in codes, and security verification information belong only to you.

Use Jupko Messaging Whenever Possible

Jupko provides an internal messaging system so users can communicate without publicly exposing personal contact information.

You may place a phone number, email address, or other contact information in a listing description, but remember that anyone viewing the listing may be able to see it.

For privacy reasons, we do not recommend publishing personal contact information openly.

Whenever possible, start communication through Jupko's messaging system.

Protect Your Personal Information

Do not share personal information that is not necessary for the transaction.

Do not send photos of identity documents, online-banking credentials, credit-card security information, passwords, or verification codes.

Share information such as your address only when it is genuinely necessary and after considering who you are sharing it with.

If you cannot understand why the other party needs a particular piece of personal information, stop and think before sharing it.

Be Careful When Asked to Pay Someone Else's Account

If the person you are dealing with asks you, without a reasonable explanation, to send money to a completely different person's bank account, take extra care.

Before paying, try to understand who you are paying and why the payment is being sent to another person.

Constantly changing bank accounts, accounts under different names, or inconsistent explanations can be warning signs.

Be More Careful With Shipped Transactions

When you buy without seeing the item in person, your ability to inspect it beforehand is more limited.

You can ask the seller for current, detailed photos or additional evidence that the item works when appropriate.

However, a photo or video alone does not guarantee that the other person is trustworthy or that the item will actually be sent.

Jupko does not provide shipping services and does not inspect the contents or delivery of shipped items.

Shipping, payment, and delivery terms are agreed between buyer and seller.

Take Extra Care With Digital Products and Accounts

Verification can be more difficult for products that cannot be physically inspected.

For digital products, licences, accounts, codes, or similar items, check whether the item is valid, whether it can be transferred, and whether the transaction complies with the rules of the relevant service.

Do not treat a screenshot or message alone as conclusive proof that the item exists or will be delivered.

Take Suspicious Behaviour Seriously

If the other party's information keeps changing, they avoid giving clear answers, offer an abnormally low price, pressure you to pay quickly, or insist on unusual payment methods, reconsider the transaction.

A single issue does not always mean fraud. However, several warning signs together may indicate that you should be more cautious.

Walking away from a suspicious transaction is much easier than trying to recover money after it has been lost.

Report Suspicious Listings

You can report listings that you believe are suspicious, misleading, fake, inappropriate, or against the rules using Jupko's Report / Complaint feature.

Listings are not only checked when first published. They may also be reviewed later by moderation and removed when necessary.

Reporting a suspicious listing may help protect not only you but other users as well.

When necessary, you can also use Jupko's contact form.

Report Suspicious Users and Messages

You can report users and messages that you believe are suspicious, misleading, threatening, fraudulent, or against the rules using Jupko's reporting tools.

If you do not want a user to contact you, you can block that user.

Do not hesitate to use the blocking feature.

You are not required to continue communicating with a user you do not trust.

Jupko Moderation Continues After Publication

Passing an initial moderation review does not mean that no further action can be taken later.

Published listings can be reviewed again.

Content that is found to violate rules, mislead users, appear suspicious, or be unsuitable for the platform may be removed when necessary.

User reports are also an important part of this process.

Follow the Laws of the Country You Are In

Jupko is a classifieds platform that can be used worldwide.

However, laws governing whether a product or service may be sold, purchased, possessed, or advertised can vary from country to country.

Something that is legal in one country may be prohibited or restricted in another.

Every Jupko user is responsible for complying with the laws and regulations applicable where they post, sell, or buy.

The fact that an item can technically be listed on Jupko does not mean that it is legal in your country.

More details will be provided on our Prohibited and Restricted Products and Services page.
